Reaching Out

When I was in elementary, our school hosted an outreach program. This program involved us going to an orphanage with kids who had different kinds of disabilities and spent a whole day with them. We prepared different activities for them and provided a number of school supplies for them to use. We learned a lot about their lives and about their very own disabilities. It felt great reaching out to these kids, putting smiles on their faces, and making them feel special. This was definitely one of the many learning experiences I will never forget.
